Magazine publisher IPC Media has appointed Cathy Ma to the new role of social media product manager.
Working across IPC's entire portfolio, which includes NME, Nuts and Marie Claire, Ma will work with the publisher's editorial, marketing and technology teams to develop a social media strategy for the group's titles.
Ma brings experience from outside of the publishing sector to her new job. She was previously a social media consultant at Vodafone and prior to this worked at Yahoo as a programme manager responsible for user experience and community features.
"Social media has grown into an increasingly popular medium for people to connect and share over recent years, but good quality content still sits at the heart of creating meaningful user experiences. IPC Media, with its highly relevant content and world recognised brands, is perfectly placed to introduce new, clever ways of audience engagement," says Ma in a release.
