IPC Media has announced it will use Demand Media's Pluck platform to improve the integration of social media on its websites.
IPC claims the platform will "improve social bridging" from the its network of websites to sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
This is another step by the publishing group to further their reach into social media, following the appointment of Cathy Ma as the new social media product manager in recent weeks.
"Social media has changed the role of online publishers forever," Tara Whitaker, IPC Digital's head of programme management, says in a release. "Content creation is now just one part of successfully engaging consumers and it is critical that great journalism is enhanced with passionate user content, insight and conversation. "IPC Media is extremely well placed in this exciting era, with lots of thriving communities that are passionate about the subjects we write about. The addition of Pluck will help us to take our communities and our brands to the next level."
