Mail Online recorded the highest number of monthly unique users in July - for the second month running, according to the latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations Electronic (ABCe).

The Mail's website also increased its unique users month-on-month after taking top spot in the ABCes last month.

The site attracted 29,872,465 unique users, a 59.7 per cent year-on-year rise. Guardian.co.uk was the second most popular site audited in terms of unique users with 26,990,072 for the month, closely followed by the Telegraph's website, which posted 26,479,638 unique users for the same period.

The Sun was the only other national newspaper website to post a month-on-month increases in unique users. Mirror Group's network of websites also saw a 10.19 per cent rise from June.

The bureau's report now includes figures on average daily unique user figures for the sites, as shown below. Six-monthly unique user figures for regional newspaper groups have also been released today - more to follow from Journalism.co.uk.

Times Online

Unique users: 18,873,975 (-11.04 per cent); +15.14 per cent year-on-year

Average daily unique users: 1,020,845 (-13.77 per cent)

TheSun.co.uk

Unique users: 25,094,107 (+0.12 per cent); +57.11 per cent year-on-year

Average daily unique users: 1,454,599 (-0.97 per cent)

Independent.co.uk

Unique users: 8,387,819 (-10.31 per cent); +27.30 per cent year-on-year

Average daily unique users: 386,154 (-12.52 per cent)

Mirror Group

Unique users: 10,405,191 (+10.19 per cent); +100.98 per cent year-on-year

Average daily unique users: 495,798 (+5.45 per cent)
