Flyerboard , an online advertising system for local media, has signed deals with a host of US news groups, according to reports. Parent company PaperG told TechCrunch that new agreements had been reached with groups including the Los Angeles Times, MediaNews Group, Lee Enterprises and Sun Times Media Group. Inspired by a bulletin board , the system is already used by the New York Times Co.'s Boston.com hyperlocal sites and by Hearst Newspapers . Revenue from the Flyerboard advertising is shared between the publishers and PaperG.

Speaking to TechCrunch, PaperG CEO Victor Wong says the start-up's annual revenues are in the millions and have been growing by 70 per cent each quarter in the past year.

Wong confirmed his comments to TechCrunch in an email to Journalism.co.uk, adding that though the company would rather not publicly forecast its expectations for annual revenue, saying it is satisfied with the "robust interest in and usage of local-focused online advertising technologies".

Wong said he was not at liberty to confirm any discussions with AOL's Patch, as reported by TechCrunch, or any publishers in general.
