Its website, launched in December 2009 , says that owners GPG UK plan to launch the Manchester Weekly, Liverpool Weekly and Birmingham Weekly by 2012.
But the London Weekly's first managing editor, originally featured on its lengthy staff list , has already stepped down.
Roisin Robertson, former chief reporter of the Chislehurst Times, did not wish to comment on her decision to leave, but told Journalism.co.uk that she no longer had any association with the London Weekly.
"We had a temporary acting editor for the launch of the website and our new editor is Alan Mills," said Paul Morris, the London Weekly marketing manager.
Mystery still surrounds the company and the alleged £10.5m raised : The London Weekly site states that Global Publishing Group (GPG) is a partnership of five private equity investors , but does not offer any further details.
Companies House records show that London Weekly Ltd was incorporated on 17 December 2009.
