The Mail Online hit close to 154 million unique browsers in October, according to traffic statistics released by the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
This represents an increase of 5.25 per cent when compared to September, when the website for the Daily Mail was said to have recorded 146.2 million unique browsers. The graph below charts the journey of the Mail Online's traffic so far this year.

The highest monthly increase was reported for Mirror Group Digital in October, with a rise of 17.1 per cent to 36.4 million, following a 9.6 per cent month-on-month drop in September .
The Telegraph was the only other audited national newspaper websites to have an increase reported for monthly traffic, rising 1.2 per cent on September.
Websites for the Guardian and Metro both saw their monthly traffic fall in the ABC results, by 5.2 and 3.7 per cent respectively.
No results were reported for the London Evening Standard or the Independent.

When looking at the results year-on-year, Metro has recorded the highest rise compared to October 2012, with a 131.9 per cent increase on unique monthly browsers. Mirror Group Digital closely follows with a rise of 123.2 per cent.
Results for the websites of the Independent and London Evening Standard have now been released. The Independent saw its monthly web traffic drop to 28.7 million in October, from 29.8 million in September. The London Evening Standard also recorded a decrease in unique browsers, from 4.4 million in September to 4.1 million in October.
