News Corporation today announced it had appointed John McKinley to the role of chief technology officer for News Corporation and president of technology for News Corp Digital Media Group.
McKinley was previously working as the product design and technical lead for News Corp's iPad newspaper the Daily, due to be launched tomorrow.
In the newly-created, dual role McKinley will be responsible for developing new digital products and will also work on extending the company's core media businesses into the digital arena, according to a release. McKinley was previously chief technology officer and president of digital services for AOL.
