News Limited, the Australian arm of News Corporation, today launched a national sports network bringing together expert reporters and photographers in a centralised editorial team.

It's understood that the central team will provide national coverage of around eight sports across print and digital platforms. According to a report by News Limited title the Australian, the coverage will be made available to readers of participating state titles, websites and apps. In an announcement on its site today, the company said the News Limited Sports Network will also simplify the buying process for sports advertisers.

"To take sport coverage to the next level News Limited has brought together expert sports journalists and photographers from across the nation to create one centralised editorial team to deliver emotive, dramatic and authoritive content across print and digital platforms," the release says.

"The new team has the talent, experience and determination to cover every breaking story, every big event, from every angle, every minute of the day," News Limited’s sports network publisher Tom Salom adds.
