Content distribution company NewspaperDirect has been selected by ASUS to offer access to hundreds of titles via the hardware firm's tablet devices.

Announced during the Mobile World Congress this week, the rollout of news content on the platform will be provided initially via ASUS' Eee Pad. Support for other devices will follow, according to a release. The new partnership will mean that from Spring this year ASUS customers will be able to use its online entertainment platform to access more than 1,800 newspapers from 94 countries available through NewspaperDirect's PressDisplay technology. The ASUS platform

currently enables users to access or download digital content such as magazines and e-books, and also tune into radio stations and stream live television.
