The News of the World 's new magazine, Fabulous, is to offer a paid-for online dieting and dating services.

Subscription to the Fabulous Diets site will cost readers £2.99 a week, while the Fabulous Dating service, provided by existing site Match.com ,  is available from £22.80 for one month.

NOTW's strategy of introducing paid-for specialist online services mirrors that of Scandinavian news sites, such as newspaper Aftonbladet , whose revenue is bolstered by such subscription fees in addition to heavy advertising.

The NOTW sites will be available from February 3, when the first print edition of the magazine is issued.
