November ABCs: Mail on Sunday drops below 2m mark amid declines for nationals

The average daily circulation of the Mail on Sunday dipped below the two million mark in November amid declines for the majority of UK national newspapers, according to the latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The MoS dropped from 2,037,232 in October to 1,985,333 last month, a decrease of 2.55 per cent.

The biggest month-on-month decline was recorded by the Sunday Mirror of 5.58 per cent, from 1,133,256 to 1,070,062.

Every national morning paper, popular, mid market and quality titles, experienced a month-on-month decline in average daily circulation last month. Year-on-year declines continued for every audited paper in the report.

Of the three UK national sunday newspapers that achieved an increase in circulations, the biggest was recorded by Scotland on Sunday with 3.59 per cent.

The figure in brackets is the month-on-month percentage change for the average net circulation between October and November and the third figure shows the year-on-year percentage change between November 2009 and November 2010.
