The Daily Mail had the largest mobile-only audience among UK news organisations in June, according to the first report into monthly mobile traffic figures by the National readership Survey (NRS), released today.

Data from comScore and the NRS show almost 10.7 million people accessed the Daily Mail site through a mobile device in June 2014, of which 5.6 million did not read the publication in print or on desktop computer.

In terms of mobile-only readership as a percentage of the total, The Independent boasts the largest proportion of mobile-only readers with 3.2 million making up a third of the overall audience, at 32.45 per cent.

The Telegraph's 4.8 million mobile-only readers constitute 29.75 per cent of their overall readership, the second highest, while the Mirror's 4.4 million mobile-only readers give it the third largest proportion of mobile-only readers, at 28.6 per cent.

The Guardian has a mobile-only readership of 27.64 per cent, while The Scotsman, despite only having an overall readership of 1.27 million, saw just under 26 per cent of its audience accessing the site on mobile alone.

Today's report is the first of its kind from the NRS, combining comScore data and face-to-face surveys with 36,000 people. Only the titles with a large enough sample size were included in the results.

The web-only audience numbers of UK news organisations for June 2014, included in the above charts, were released in August .
