Nuts magazine was named consumer media brand of the year last night at the PPA Awards 2009.
The ceremony also saw fellow IPC Media title NME.com take the award for interactive consumer magazine of the year.
The judges said: "NME.com is a site which has consistently dominated its sector, with fantastic cross media integration, first class content and excellent commercial results."
Nuts was applauded by the judges for its ability to 'respond at every turn to the needs and desires of its audience', while also 'sharing the passion of the reader and demonstrating a single-minded commercial exploitation of the brand'.
Reed Business Information's Farmers Weekly Interactive , which took two gongs at the recent Association of Online Publishers' Awards , was named business website of the year.
"The superb quality of the entries for these awards demonstrates the resilience and talent of a dynamic industry. UK publishers have once again proved that some of the world's top talent is working for their magazines, websites, and across their brands," Jonathan Shepherd, CEO of PPA, said in a release.
