The relaunched Daily Mirror website has reported a 13 per cent rise in daily unique browsers in April, reaching 660,672 people on average.

The new-look Mirror.co.uk saw the biggest month-on-month increase in the latest set of audited web traffic figures released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations today.

Mirror.co.uk unveiled a new look in February - a "cleaner and less cluttered" design will make better use of photography and video.

Its monthly unique browsers in April were also up, by 10.85 per cent, compared with March's figure - reaching 13.68 million. However the figure is still down three per cent on the same month last year.

Market leader Mail Online saw a slight decline in monthly visitor numbers, down 0.53 per cent to 90.3 million - but the daily figure rose 4.42 per cent over the same period to 5.65 million.

London's Evening Standard suffered a second month of falling traffic, with monthly unique browsers down a further 11.27 per cent in April to 2.52 million last month – down from 2.84 million in March.

On a daily average basis, visitor numbers to Standard.co.uk are down 8.23 per cent month on month, from 120,525 to 110,611.
