Journalists and the public can now have their say on the code of standards which shapes how the majority of UK newsrooms work.
The Editors' Code of Practice Committee, which writes and revises the code, is calling for suggestions on improving the system of self-regulation of the press. Public consultations on the code, which is upheld and enforced by Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), are held every three years.
The Code shapes how the UK newsrooms cover a range of issues, from accuracy to privacy, harassment, intrusion into grief or shock, reporting suicide, coverage of children or discrimination.
You can send your submission to this email address until Friday 31 March 2023. All submissions will be published on the Editors’ Code of Practice Committee website unless you request to remain anonymous.
