Photographers and photo agencies are invited to two low-cost events later this month to discuss the latest changes in skills, equipment and the marketplace.

The National Association of Press Agencies (NAPA) is hosting a one-day workshop for medium-sized photographic agencies and text-based agencies that handle images, to discuss copyright, technical changes and opportunities from new markets, such as video.

The event will feature both NAPA and non-NAPA members and news picture agency bosses from across Europe.

"There have been a lot of changes and challenges recently and we wanted to stage a forum for news photo agencies to discuss and compare notes and devise smarter ways of working. The subjects up for discussion are of interest to all those involved in the supply of news pictures which is why it is not just for NAPA members, the main agenda will be how defend, maintain and expand revenue streams in a changing market," says Mike Leidig, NAPA vice chairman, in a release.

Attending the workshop, which is on 10 June in London, will cost £46 (+VAT) and interest can be registered with

Later in the month, on 19 June, multimedia production and training company Duckrabbit and development agency for photographers Rhubarb-Rhubarb will run a one-day course for photographers and photojournalists looking to make the leap into producing multimedia work, such as audio slideshows and film.

Held in London, the Photography Still Moving course will cost £45 and features training from Duckrabbit founder and former BBC journalist Ben Chesterton and Press Photographer's Year 2009 Multimedia Award-winner Anna Stevens.
