The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has received nine nominations in the shortlist for this year's Magazine Academy awards.
UCLan will compete against seven other universities across three categories in the awards, which are jointly organised by industry body the PPA and training group the Periodicals Training Council (PTC).
The awards recognise emerging talent from the 14 PTC-accredited journalism courses in the UK, looking for innovative ideas for magazine and digital publishing.
City University London, Cardiff University, Kingston University, the University of Sheffield, Goldsmiths, Bournemouth University and Southampton Solent University will also compete in the new magazine concept, new digital product concept and new student magazine categories.
The winners will be named at a ceremony on 13 October. Two graduates from the shortlisted titles will be chosen for a six-month stint as editor of Barclay's 100voices print magazine and website. The shortlist can be viewed in full on the Magazine Academy's website .
