Glamour magazine has recorded the highest combined circulation for issues of its print and digital editions, based on Audit Bureau of Circulation consumer magazine figures for the second half of last year, which the PPA has used to produce a combined circulation chart for the first time.

In a release earlier this month, the PPA (Professional Publishers Association) said its new combined circulation chart was prompted by "significant growth in the consumption of magazines in digital form, particularly in the consumption of digital editions".

The term 'digital editions', as explained in the release, refers to "magazines that are delivered digitally in a format identical (or very similar) to the printed version".

This is as opposed to interactive editions, which a number of magazines are now reporting circulation results for via digital publications certificates.

The combined circulation chart, which was published today and shows the average circulation of the title in the six months ending December 2012, states Glamour magazine had the highest combined circulation of 428,325, representing the combination of a print circulation of 424,077 and digital edition circulation of 4,248.

Hearst Magazines title Good Housekeeping came second, with a combined circulation of 412,704, including a print circulation of 409,326 and a digital edition circulation of 3,378.

In third place was Woman & Home, an IPC Media title, which recorded a combined circulation of 353,386, combining a print circulation of 352,586 and a digital editions circulation of 800.

Looking at digital edition results only, Hearst-Rodale title Men's Health came top with an average circulation of 12,676.
