Arena magazine is to suspend publication after 22 years, Bauer Media has confirmed.
The men's magazine will cease publication after April's issue to be published on March 12.
The publisher will enter into month-long consultations with staff and it is understood that 12 jobs could be at risk.
"Following this decision, we have now entered consultations with several members of staff. We will be seeking opportunities to redeploy our talented teams in other areas of the group and will not discuss individual employee circumstances until consultation has concluded," the publisher said.
The decision to suspend Arena in the UK will not affect the magazine's international editions or bi-annual title Arena Homme Plus, the group added.
The title recorded a 16.3 per cent year-on-year growth in circulation, according to February's Audit Bureau of Circulation's (ABC) figures , but reached only 29,374 per issue in the last six months of 2008.
