Adrian Monck is to leave his position as head of journalism at City University, London to run the World Economic Forum communications team.
Monck will join the Forum as managing director and head of communications, it was announced in a release published today.
"Adrian brings a wealth of experience to the Forum, not least his affinity for communicating through new media," Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, said in the release.
"YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Flickr and blogging are some of the ways the Forum engages people from all sectors of society in a global dialogue. Only in this way can real solutions to global challenges be found. Adrian will work to further this global conversation,” Schwab said.
Before becoming head of journalism at City University, Monck worked in senior roles for several news programmes; was managing editor at Channel Five News and executive producer at Sky News. He is also well-known for his blog about media and journalism: adrianmonck.com .
