New York Times foreign correspondent, Nicholas Kristof, is inviting students to enter his annual competition which will see the winner accompany him on a trip to Africa. In a YouTube video, Kristof outlines the requirements of the competition. He is looking for one student from an American university - either undergraduates or graduate students - to blog and produce video content for NYTimes.com and Kristof's YouTube channel during the trip.
Entrants must apply with an essay or video by email or by upload to Kristof's YouTube channel. The full rules can be read at this link.
Entries close February 13 2009.
The destination is not finalised, but Kristof writes on his NYTimes.com blog that it could be Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Liberia and/or Ghana.
