The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) has today launched a new handbook to tackle bullying at work.
The Stop Bullying guide, which is split into three sections, looks at identifying bullying and the causes; what to do if you are being bullied and advice for union representatives; and legal protections from bullying and harassment.
"For someone who is bullied at work it can be one of the worst experiences of their life and greatly affects their ability to do their job. Bullying doesn't just affect the individuals concerned, people who witness bullying and the organisations in which it takes place are also affected," said Lena Calvert, NUJ equality officer, in a statement on the NUJ website .
"This handbook should help those who are being bullied to find ways of tackling it and to reassure them that they are not alone."
The handbook is available in PDF format from the NUJ website or as a hard copy by emailing lenac@nuj.org.uk .
