Generational communication specialist, speaker and podcast host Alastair Greener will be one of the keynote speakers at this year’s TBE South West Charity Conference & Expo in June.

Alastair will present a compelling session titled “Building Bridges Across Generations: Empowering Communities Through Connection”, where he’ll explore how charities can better understand, engage with, and collaborate across all eight living generations.

With a background in broadcasting and a passion for intergenerational dialogue, Alastair is known for turning complex communication challenges into clear, practical strategies. His talk will share evidence-based insights, debunk generational myths, and provide realistic tools to help charity leaders, trustees and teams build stronger connections both internally and in the communities they serve.

“Charities are uniquely placed to support and unite people of all ages,” said Alastair. “But without intentional communication, we risk missed opportunities for engagement, collaboration and impact. I’ll be sharing strategies to deepen understanding and build trust across generations.”

As host of The Alastair Greener Generationally Speaking Podcast, he regularly interviews guests from different age groups and backgrounds to explore what divides us, what unites us, and how we can communicate more effectively. His talk draws on insights from these conversations, as well as his extensive research and consultancy experience across the corporate, public and third sectors.

Now in its seventh year, the TBE South West Charity conference and expo is a key date in the calendar for charities, CICs and non-profits across the region. The event offers a full day of networking, exhibitions, and expert-led talks aimed at empowering and connecting professionals in the sector.

Event founder Anita Jaynes said: "We're delighted to have Alastair Greener joining us this year. His work on generational communication is incredibly relevant, especially as charities seek to stay inclusive and connected across age groups. His talk will bring practical, real-world value to everyone in the room."

The conference takes place at Bath Racecourse on Thursday 5th June 2025.

Alastair Greener is a leading UK-based speaker and expert in communication skills, with a particular focus on generational dynamics within workforces and organisations. He is currently writing his first book on generational communication. He's produced two comprehensive reports about generations in the workplace. The latest, Communication Habits & Preferences 2024, interviewed more than 4,000 people of differing ages about their communication habits, preferences both within and outside of the workplace. The survey also included more than 200 responses from those who will be the next working generation - Generation Alpha. It provides fascinating data around bridging communication gaps, enhancing collaboration and addressing workplace challenges.

His study previously involved a survey of more than 100 Human Resources professionals, Generations In The Workplace Study 2023. It revealed key challenges organisations face such as managing staff retention across age groups and navigating generational differences in work behaviours and expectations. This study produces actionable insights into fostering intergenerational harmony and tackling HR difficulties effectively.
