Your responses: Gender-diverse speakers for your next journalism conference

This week we published a list of 103 speakers you need at your next journalism event to avoid all-male panels, and the response from our community was HUGE.

So many suggestions came pouring via Twitter, Facebook, and email that we felt it was only fair to include some of them here, even if we only have space to include a fraction of what we received.

It is gratifying to see this subject resonating with so many people. If you want to do even more to help the fight against all-male panels, here's what you can do:

• If you're a man who got invited to speak on an all-male panel, ask the organisers why there aren't any women on it. Perhaps even make a vow not to speak on panels that aren't gender-diverse.
• If you're at a conference which is hosting an all-male panel, contact the organisers to make it clear, politely but firmly, that it's not acceptable. Maybe even send them this list.
• If you're a conference organiser, make an extra effort to ensure your event is a manel-free zone.
