Searching through US public records digging for potential stories can be a time consuming task, but Sqoop is here to help.
Bill Hankes, formerly director at Microsoft’s Bing, founded Sqoop to pull together sources of public records and help journalists stay up to date with the latest publications.
The database is free to use for journalists and the team is currently working on what they call the "newsworthy algorithm" which will highlight "spit-out-your-coffee news". Read more about how Sqoop works and Hankes’ mission in this article by Ren Laforme for Poynter.
