Adam Sills has been appointed sports editor for the Daily Telegraph. 

He joins from the Guardian where he was head of sport planning, responsible for commissioning all sports content for the Guardian, the Observer and Guardian.co.uk.

Sills said: "I am delighted to be joining The Telegraph. I look forward to making the most of the exciting opportunity that has been offered to me while working with some fantastic writers and editors.

Ben Clissitt, head of sport, TMG said: "Adam has a wealth of editing experience - in features as well as news - and he is an excellent manager. He has been a significant force behind the Guardian's recent successes and I know that he will be a valuable addition to the Telegraph's excellent sports team and will help drive us to further success."
