An opportunity has arisen to join APM Health Europe (APMHE) as a full-time healthcare news reporter based in London.

APM Health Europe is a subscription-based news wire focusing on healthcare business news affecting the European pharmaceutical marketplace.

APMHE’s parent company is APM International, a Paris-based publisher with a number of online titles covering different aspects of healthcare. APM has a reputation for editorial independence and unbiased investigative journalism.

APMHE covers a wide range of subjects including market access, health policy, competitor activity, drug safety, pricing and reimbursement issues as well as other areas of interest within the pharmaceutical industry globally.

APMHE readers include senior executives within pharmaceutical and biotech companies, European regulators, investment banks and consultancies. 

The APMHE team operates with permanent staff based in the UK, Paris and Berlin, where the chief editor is based. There are also regular freelancers based in other major European markets, including Spain, Italy and Brussels.

The team primarily works remotely but recognises the importance of regular in-person meetings. These gatherings take place in London and serve as valuable opportunities for face-to-face collaboration, enhancing team cohesion.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and have proven experience of reporting healthcare news, a good knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and medical/scientific research, and have successfully undertaken the following:

  • News reporting
  • Interviewing
  • Researching diverse topics
  • Adding value to stories by including additional third party/company comment, context
  • Writing for defined readership
  • Sourcing and developing reliable contacts
  • Editing and proofreading (depending on experience)
  • Knowledge of data visualisation programmes welcomed.

The candidate will also need excellent IT skills and the ability to work as part of a small, dynamic team. 

They must be able to travel to conferences both in the UK and overseas.

APMHE is looking for someone based in London, Greater London or within 90 minutes of central London by public transport.

The annual salary for this role is around £35,000 - £40,000, depending on experience.
