Chapple will cover the credit default swaps market in her new role.
Starting out as a lawyer, Chapple has since worked as a business reporter for the New Zealand Herald and as political editor at the Sunday Star Times, before moving to the UK in 2007.
Most recently she worked as a reporter for Institutional Investor covering the derivatives market in Europe.
