Wonderly is a strategy, content and tech agency within the Haymarket Media Group that creates measurable value for brands and organisations by engaging their audiences with great content delivered through innovative platforms - whether that is delivered in print, across social, online or even at the bus stop. We have been helping our clients connect with their customers for more than 20 years.

Some of our most impactful and intriguing work is undertaken on behalf of medical associations, who we help to engage, inform and entertain members in frontline clinical roles across the globe. The senior reporter role involves working with two associations serving particularly interesting and strategically important professions – radiographers and surgeons – across a range of different channels, including print, digital, video and audio.

You could be writing about how NHS radiographers are involved in cliff-edge negotiations with the government over pay, or how surgeons can avoid potentially fatal incidents in the operating theatre. You will travel to meet professionals in their workplaces across the country. And you will work as part of a creative team of editors, writers and designers within a growing, dynamic agency environment where journalistic craft is valued and nurtured through formal and informal training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for writing news stories several days per week, and helping make decisions about which issues should shape the news agenda. You will contribute features, interviews, case studies and other long-form content to print and digital publications and you’ll help craft our social media channels to connect with our audiences.

Other duties include:

  • Researching and fact-checking articles and building knowledge to contribute your own ideas
  • Responding to social media comments, passing on queries and starting discussions in order to build our communities
  • Uploading articles to the website content management system and building email newsletters as required
  • Representing your brands by attending events and conferences, and building contacts among your audiences

Skills / experience / knowledge / minimum criteria

You will already have experience as a B2B journalist and will be able to demonstrate a portfolio of published articles which are creative and diverse in nature, length and format and which have been produced to a standard which requires relatively minimal editing. Experience of medical professions, in some context, is a bonus but by no means essential. In addition, you will be:

  • Highly organised and motivated
  • Willing and able to meet people and build relationships in person
  • Open to learning about audio and video journalism
  • Accurate and technically proficient in your writing

We are a Disability Confident employer and offer guaranteed interviews to all disabled applicants who meet the above minimum criteria.

To be considered as part of this initiative, please ensure you indicate if you have a disability when applying for the post.
