To work out how to better serve our community in 2017 and the years to come, Journalism.co.uk will be on the road over the next few months, with temporary mobile offices in a number of European cities.

Founded in 1999, Journalism.co.uk has been covering the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in digital journalism from our offices in Brighton, United Kingdom.

But as our editorial projects, as well as events and training, are becoming increasingly international, it's time to reach out more to media organisations, individual journalists and start-ups from other countries to find out what's on your to-do lists this year, what worries you, what resources and tools are needed, and how best to communicate this to the wider digital journalism community.

The project is starting small – our former news editor, now international editor, Catalina Albeanu will be travelling to Brussels, Paris, Scandinavia, and Germany over the next few months, with short stops in Italy for the International Journalism Festival, and in Austria for the GEN Summit, where Journalism.co.uk is helping to organise the Startups For News programme.

The aim of the mobile bureau, or Journalism.co.uk pop-up, is to turn some of our Skype calls, phone calls and emails into real-life conversations.

Only a small part of the itinerary is currently set in stone - Brussels in February, followed by Paris in March – and we're open to suggestions about where to go next and when.

If you know of any journalism events, meetups or workshops happening in your local area, about journalism projects from your local news organisations we should look into, or innovative startups that tackle the challenges newsrooms face today, please get in touch by emailing catalina [at] journalism.co.uk.

You can also follow Catalina Albeanu on Twitter and Medium for more updates about the logistics of the mobile bureau, in case you're interested in trying something similar yourself.

And if you're in London or elsewhere in the UK, fear not – Journalism.co.uk is continuing the coverage as usual. We are helping out with a hackathon for drones in journalism on 21 January in Manchester, and we are organising our newsrewired digital journalism conference on 8 February in London, as well as workshops in London and Brighton throughout the year.

Last but not least, we are hosting networking drinks for journalists on 7 February in London – hope to see you there!
