TheStreet.com is working in partnership with A R Media, a New York-based media holding company, to develop Stockpickr.com, which it claims will allow members to compare portfolios for investment ideas and open a dialogue about stocks.
Stockpickr will provide content on a daily basis to TheStreet.com through features, occasional video packages and investment portfolios, some of which will be archived for reference.
News feeds from Thestreet.com and other editorial features will be fed back to the site.
"With Stockpickr we initially started off creating a tool that we could use to generate trading ideas from browsing the portfolios of the top hedge funds and investors," said James Altucher, co-founder of A R Media and joint CEO of Stockpickr.
"However, it turned out to be even a stronger platform for investing knowledge once we opened it up to a community of active investors."
