He moves from another of Unity Media's consumer motoring titles GT Purely Porsche magazine, where he was deputy editor.
Knapman started his journalism career on GT Purely Porsche magazine as a staff writer after graduating from Cardiff University. He was later promoted to assistant editor before moving up the title again to deputy editor.
"Try your hardest to get a job as a staffer on a magazine (work experience is a great way to get a foot in the door) and work your way up from there," advises Knapman.
"Hitting deadlines is crucial, as is the ability to generate and implement original and exciting story ideas.
"I wholeheartedly believe that a good journalist can write about anything, but finding a subject matter that interests and inspires you is always a bonus."
