David Greene has been appointed newspaper sales director at Telegraph Media Group. 

Greene takes over the role from Steve McLaughlin, who has been promoted to chief commercial officer: digital and consumer revenues.
 
From 1998 to 2008, Greene was marketing and circulation director of Independent News and Media, and oversaw circulation and marketing strategy for the launch of the compact edition of the Independent.

Prior to joining INM, he was circulation director for IPC Magazines.
 
After leaving the Independent, Greene set up LOAF Marketing, a sales promotions agency whose clients include publishers, media agencies and direct clients.
