Hachette Filipacchi has appointed Lisa Helmanis as editor of its Red magazine online brand, which will launch later this year.

Helmanis will be responsible for building an editorial team for the Red brand online as well as overseeing the editorial content and e-commerce aspects of the site.

The new team already includes Ben Cooper, formerly editorial director at Travel Intelligence, as Travel Editor; Hannah Roche, previously on Stella magazine, as fashion and beauty editor; and Charlotte Gunn from Good to Know as features and lifestyle editor.

Helmanis has been working as a freelance consultant since January 2009. She has previously been head of editorial at MyDeco, editor of Candid magazine and editor of Sunday Times Insideout magazine.

The new Red site will launch by the end of the year following a succesful spell for the print title, which delivered its highest-ever ABC result in August.
