He joins the title from Standard & Poor's European Marketscope where he was senior reporter, covering European equities. He was also briefly in charge of S&P's Today's Strategy columnn.
Panchal started his career at The Asian age, covering high courts, sports and local news. He went on to work for The Times of India as a senior sub-editor and reporter. During his time in India he reported on business, politics, sports and breaking news.
Prior to joining Standard & Poors, Panchal worked for Reuters at its London and Bangalore bureaux, writing and assisting on US, UK and European equities and corporate finance news.
His advice to those wanting to follow a similar career is: "Be accurate first, then fast. Try to connect the dots and extrapolate the possibilities at a practical/realistic level."
