The Association of Online Publishers (AOP) is restructuring is chairmanship structure again.

In 2008, a co-chairmanship system was introduced in which each incoming chair overlapped with the outgoing for six months.

Now, the AOP is to dissolve this system, with Tim Faircliff, general manager of consumer media at Thomson Reuters remaining as the current chairman.

Dominic Collins, group director of Trader Media Group, who was initially appointed in September 2009 will step down from his co-chair role.

The changes follow a review by the association's new director Lee Baker, appointed in September 2009, held in consultation of the two chairs, the executive board, various AOP committees and members.

"It was felt that with my role now bedded in, the co-chair structure, whilst operating effectively during 2009, has added unnecessary structure for the current requirement of the AOP," said Baker.

"Through talking to our membership, and obviously developing a strategy with the team at AOP - it seems more effective to return to the 'one chairman' configuration."

A process for the AOP to operate independently of PPA was also suggested.
