BBC promotes Amanda Farnsworth to daytime editor
Ms Farnsworth's move follows a career at the BBC which began in 1986 with her appointment as a news trainee. Following this she worked as an assistant producer on Panorama and producer on Newsnight.
She then became BBC bureau editor in Washington DC before returning to the UK to become launch editor for BBC News 24. From here she joined BBC FOUR News as launch editor.
Peter Horrocks, head of television news, said: "Amanda will bring creative imagination and a strong understanding of the strategic future direction of news to this crucial role."
Amanda will take up her new role in the New Year.
