GuidoPolitical blogger Guido Fawkes today claimed that he has become the first blogger to ask a question at a parliamentary lobby briefing.

In what could prove a significant development in the journo-blogger continuum, he claimed that he 'entered the Heart of Darkness' and quizzed the prime minister's official spokesperson (PMOS).

The political blogger last week wallowed in the role he and fellow bloggers had played in refocusing the media spotlight on deputy prime minister John Prescott, claiming: "The news is no longer defined by big media."

In a post on his blog today, he writes:

"Some of the hacks smirked in recognition as Guido gatecrashed the briefing five minutes late.

"When Guido asked his question, Tom Kelly squinted in a 'which one is he, these lobby hacks are getting younger...' kind of way.

"Guido did not see Michael White or Nick Robinson in attendance. No reason to question the PMOS today obviously."

Guido also wrote that he asked PMOS Tom Kelly: "Does the PM still believe that the government is 'whiter than white'?"

To which he states Mr Kelly replied: "The PM believes it is important that everyone upholds standards in public life. I am not going to discuss in any way the police investigation."
