The Guardian this week published a supplement dedicated to the topic of convergence in the media industry.

Convergence - the integrated delivery of media and entertainment - is finally being addressed by broadcasters, said BBC chief technology officer John Varney.

"Convergence means consumers have suddenly demanded content that suits their home technology, and that will be consumed at a time that suits their lifestyle."

The supplement includes access to a white paper produced by business services firm Deloitte on current and future issues of convergence for media companies. It also includes a review of new technologies such as Microsoft's Media Centre, which combines TV with the PC, and mobile gaming consoles such as the Nokia N-Gage.

Users can join the debate on the Guardian Unlimited messageboards.
