Web publishers have just two days left to enter the annual international Webby awards, which spotlight the best work in online media.

Dubbed 'the Oscars of the internet' by the New York Times, the awards are now in their ninth year. The 2005 awards offer 35 new categories, bringing the total to 65 covering specialist areas from fashion and activism to employment and politics.

Last year's winners included Google, Wikipedia and the BBC, as well as smaller independent sites such as IgoUgo and Tolerance.org.

The list of nominees will be published in April 2005 and winners announced in May 2005.

Entries can be submitted at the Webby awards website. The deadline for entries is 17 December.
