Gillmor goes it alone
Mr Gillmor recently announced his plans to leave the Mercury and set up his own citizen journalism project. The news has attracted significant interest from the online journalism community, but Mr Gillmor has yet to release any firm details.
Writing on his own blog on New Year's Day, Mr Gillmor said the venture is in an embryonic state and that online gossip has raised 'absurdly high expectations'.
