The BBC has extended its podcast services to include Rooze Haftom, the Persian-language arts and entertainment radio show from the BBC World Service.

Podcasts are audio files that can be sent directly to listeners' desktops so they can listen whenever they want.

The BBC offers podcasts of a range of radio shows including Radio 4's In Our Time and World Service technology show Go Digital, but Rooze Haftom is the first non-English language show to be podcast.

"People are leading busier lives and with diverse media choices it's essential to give them the opportunity to tailor how they listen," said Behzad Bolour, presenter of Rooze Haftom.

Listeners can sign up for a 15 minute highlight from the show on the BBC Persian website.
