Sylvia Auton is returning to head up IPC Media following four years as executive vice president of Time Inc. in the US.

Auton will resume her role as CEO of IPC, which publishes NME, Woman's Own and Marie Claire, from 1 January 2011. She will replace Evelyn Webster, who  will move to the US as executive vice president of Time Inc.'s  Lifestyle Division.

Sylvia says: "I'm really looking forward to working once more with the IPC Media board to lead this fantastic company and its people and build on the great work that has been done over the last two years."

Evelyn says: "I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to join Time Inc.'s senior team as EVP of the Lifestyle Division. My 18 years at IPC have been a privilege, especially the last 20 months as CEO when I have been able to lead such a strong team during our transformation into a truly multi-platform company."
