Times Online has launched a new section for its significant female readership.

Research earlier this year found that Times Online has more female readers in the 25-44 age group than many major portal sites for women such as handbag.com.

The Times Online Women section will feature health, beauty and fashion but also business, money and motoring, to cater for the site's high AB readership demographic.

The section will feature content from the Times and Sunday Times newspapers, as well as articles commissioned exclusively for the website.

"The section goes beyond the traditional fashion formula to offer women a genuine range of articles from personal finance to education and, of course, fashion from outstanding writers such as Anne Ashworth, Lisa Armstrong, and Lucia van der Post," said Peter Bale, online editorial director.

"The women's section will be a powerhouse of essential information," he added.
