Email addresses for Google's trial webmail service are apparently still available to journalists, despite some addresses being auctioned off on eBay for as much as $200.

Nearly 3,000 Gmail accounts appear to be on offer on the auction website, but journalists can still apply for a free trial account by contacting Google's press office.

Right now, the addresses babybaby@gmail.com, lovelygirl@gmail.com and beastieboys@gmail.com are all on sale on eBay for around $100. mercedesbenz@gmail.com is on sale for $200.

Google refused to comment on the situation, or whether they are taking any action to try to limit the sale of their Gmail addresses on eBay.
