Freebie week pays for Wall Street Journal
Wall Street Journal's 'open house' trial last November generated a five per cent growth in paid subscriptions as 19,000 new readers signed up to the site.The five-day open house allowed readers to access WSJ.com for free, and 90 per cent of readers went on to sign up for the paid service.
WSJ.com claims to be the largest paid content site in the world, and now provides business and financial markets news to 731,000 international subscribers.
